ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors will save you money by reducing your energy costs up to 12 percent. Not only that, they'll help keep your home comfortable all year-round, reduce outside noise, and, depending on the amount of humidity in your home, will have a lot less condensation in cold weather.
How Does It Work?
1. Canada has been divided into four climate zones.
Toronto GTA is located in zone B.
2. The climate zones for which a window and door is ENERGY STAR qualified will be shown on a label or on its sales literature.
3. Simply choose a product model that is qualified for the climate zone that you live in.
If all of the original windows and doors in an average older home were replaced by ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors, the household energy consumption would be reduced by about 7 percent, which would save three quarters of a tonne of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually. If ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors where installed in an average new home instead of conventional products, energy consumption would be reduced by about 12 percent.
Many products will qualify for more than one zone in Canada. The more zones a product qualifies for, the more energy efficient it is. So, if you buy a product that is qualified for one or more zones that are colder than where you live, you can save even more on your energy costs.

WE SUPPLY AND INSTALL WINDOWS WITH OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AND ENERGY RATING
Low Emissivity Coatings
LoE Coatings applied to glass which reflect long wave room side infrared energy back into the room reducing the U-Value. Emissivity varies from 0 to 1 and the lower the emissivity, the lower the resultant U-Value.
LoE2 Second generation of LoE2 coatings which provide a high visible light transmission while offering a significant decrease in solar heat gain coefficient and shading coefficient. These products have two silver layers in the coating stack.
NEW!!! LoE3 – 366 the ultimate performance glass
LoE3 Third generation of LoE3 coatings which provide the best solar heat gain coefficient and shading coefficient with a high visible light transmission. These products have three silver layers in the coating stack.
XL Edge® Insulating Glass
XL Edge insulating glass comes with the lowest failure rate in the industry – developed in part from 45 years of experience in manufacturing IG units, 27 of these years utilizing a dual-seal silicone system.
We provide a 20-year guarantee on XL Edge units because of our advanced design and fabrication. XL Edge is at the leading edge, incorporating a stainless steel spacer with airtight bent corners and a dual-seal construction of compressed polyisobutylene (PIB) and silicone.
Desiccants are contained in the spacer to eliminate any potential for moisture. Argon is filled inside the IG unit, improving window U-factor. Since XL Edge is a warm-edge IG, the possibility of indoor condensation is greatly reduced.
Superior IG construction translates into a 0.5% seal failure rate over twenty years - plainly the lowest in the industry. To compare, the well-established 1976 Sealed Insulating Glass Manufacturing Association (SIGMA) study identifies average industry IG failures of over 9% in fifteen years. Modern competitive spacer systems simply cannot match the long-term durability characteristics of XL Edge IG.
Its insulating capability improves the window U-factor by as much as 0.03 compared to an identical configuration using an aluminum spacer. Whether you use ordinary clear glass or advanced glazing products like LoDz, XL Edge IG provides better thermal performance. These benefits make a difference in compliance with local energy codes. If your marketing plan includes the Energy Star Windows program, XL Edge can be effective in getting more of your glazing options and window configurations qualified to use this designation. The warm-edge characteristics of XL Edge IG reduce the frequency and amount of condensation during the most extreme temperature conditions. For a typical wood/vinyl window design, it would have to be 12°F colder outside before condensation forms on a unit with XL Edge in comparison with aluminum.
Argon Gas Retention
Argon gas filling is an effective way to ensure a window system achieves optimal thermal efficiencies. Argon is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable, non-reactive, inert gas that reduces heat transfer through the insulating glass unit versus air. It is the most popular type of insulating gas used in this application, although krypton can also be used. At manufacture, argon is injected between the two glass lites in an insulating glass unit. Whether argon gas will do its job throughout the life of the window system depends on the strength of the edge seal and the ability to keep the gas inside of the IG unit. Our edge seal provides the best ratio of Argon gas retention. Argon will stay in your IG unit as long as 20 years and more.
The ultimate in elegance and innovation, Casement window gives you vast, unobstructed views as well as exquisite interior and exterior detailing designed to enhance the beauty of any home. Whether used individually or joined together with picture windows Casement windows provide unlimited combinations and designs, custom made to suit your unique requirements.
Awning windows provide an excellent alternative for ventilation in large window walls or when used alone. Awning windows open outwards and provide lower directional ventilation as well as allowing the window to be open in inclement weather. Awning windows open smoothly with the turn of a crank and when closed, like a Casement window provide the tightest seal in an operating window. As the wind blows against the glass surface the window actually seals tighter. Awning windows are custom made to fit your openings and specific designs.
Picture windows are available in 3 distinct profiles. The first, called High Profile matches both Casement and Awning windows for a smooth continuous look when used in combination. The second profile called Low Profile has the same "look" as a High Profile window but is almost 1 1/2" shorter in height, giving and extra 3" of glass in the height and width of the window. The third profile matches all the Slider windows as well as the Double Hung and Single Hung windows.
Traditional classic styling for traditional homes. Double Hung windows have been designed to meet the demands of todays energy efficient homes and our harsh Canadian climate. Exquisite interior and exterior details designed to enhance the beauty of any home, Double Hung windows have been designed to maintain the architectural integrity of older homes when replacing existing Double Hung windows and are also "at home" in new construction projects. Designed so that both sash "tilt" in for easy and safe cleaning from inside your home Double Hung windows are THE PERFECT CHOICE.
Single Hung windows, one of our most popular models, has been designed for energy efficiency, ease of operation and architectural integrity. Single Hung windows feature the same traditional styling, details and energy efficiency as the Double Hung window but the top sash is fixed to enhance performance while the bottom sash "tilt" in for easy and safe cleaning from inside your home. Single Hung windows may be joined with picture windows or banked with other Single Hung windows to meet any architectural demand in both renovation or new construction.
Double "Tilt" Sliders are perfect for large window areas where maximum ventilation is required without obstructing the view. Large expanses of glass and narrow sight lines give any room an outdoor, open feeling while still meeting todays energy standards in a cost effective manner. Both sash "tilt" in for easy and safe cleaning from inside your home. Screens are easily removed from the inside making cleaning a breeze. No more step ladders and stools. Double "Tilt" Sliders may be joined with Picture windows or in "banks" of sliders to form large glass areas for a contemporary look to compliment any home. ![]()
Single "Tilt" Slider windows are a perfect alternative to the Double "Tilt" Slider. This window has the same design and construction features as the Double "Tilt" Slider with the exception that the exterior sash has been fixed to enhance the performance in our harsh winter climates. The interior sash "tilts" in for easy and safe cleaning of the exterior and interior glass surfaces without the need to go outside. The half screen is removable from the inside thus eliminating the need for ladders and step stools. Single "Tilt" Sliders may be joined with Picture windows or in "banks" of sliders to form large glass areas for a contemporary look to compliment any home.
Double Lift-Out windows are built to stand the test of time. Practical and versatile Double Lift-Out sliders will allow you to fill almost any opening with an energy efficient window system that compliments all architectural styles. Clean exterior and interior lines, large glass areas with narrow sight lines and ease of operation make the Lift-Out Slider the perfect choice in all cases. Lift-Out Sliders offer maximum ventilation without complicated moving parts. Both sash glide on ball bearing rollers and easily lift out for ease of cleaning from inside your home. Since the windows lift-out rather than "tilt" for cleaning they are ideal for areas where bulkheads or other obstructions would hinder the operation of "tilt" windows. Double Lift-Out Sliders may be joined with Picture windows or in "banks" of sliders to form large glass areas and custom window "walls"
Single Lift-Out Sliders feature the same styling, ease of operation and benifits as the Double Lift-Out Slider except that the exterior sash is fixed for enhanced performance. The interior sash can be lifted out from inside your home for safe and easy cleaning. Used as single windows or joined in combination with Picture windows Single Lift-Out Sliders can accommodate any architectural style or design.
Basement window is the finishing touch to any window project. The Basement window has been designed for those hard to get at window wells and high ceilings found in many homes. Simple, yet surprisingly efficient, the Basement window is designed around a "raised rail" concept found on many European windows. Both sash panels operate for maximum ventilation and can be easily removed for cleaning. The Basement window fits any decor without being obtrusive. Custom made to fit any opening, the sleek lines and simple but effective locking system makes this window a perfect finishing touch. A full exterior screen keeps leaves and backyard dirt out and makes cleaning the Basement window a pleasure.
The same as "Single slider" with two operable sides and fixed middle part.
